Kitchen Upgraded
A new-look kitchen is taking shape.
When finished in February there will be a new refrigerator, two ovens, a new hotplate, a new sink and new cupboards.
Well done to the combined youth member/leader/adult helper team.

Corporate Hire.
An open plan room with great views across Lake Ginninderra. Ideal for day functions, work meetings and training, AGMs, sales presentations and Christmas parties.
Located at Evelyn Parker Place, Belconnen, within easy walking distance to foreshore cafes and restaurants, the Belconnen Arts Centre, and the mall for those extra supplies.. Folding tables and plastic chairs for approximately 50 people.. Lakeside views.
Who can hire?
Private Hire/Hire by Non-Commercial Bodies/Charities/Community Groups, school reunions, 40th birthdays anniversaries, children's parties, government agencies for corporate meetings etc, other scout groups, scout members on a case-by-case basis, education / community activities.
Corporate Hire
Corporate and government groups are invited to use the scout hall for workshops. The Westfield shopping centre is 2 minutes' walk away and a number of restaurants and cafes in Beissel St and on Emu Bank make this an attractive location.
The hall has a refrigerator, two modern ovens, a microwave oven, stove and toilets. Gas heating in winter ensures a comfortable environment.
All proceeds from hall hire support scouting activities by ACT scouts. Please check the calendar to see what pre-existing bookings are in place.
Scout equipment (including boats) is not included in the hire.
Private Hire/Hire by Non-Commercial Bodies/ Charities/ Community Groups
The hall is quite large and has at least 25 trestle tables and about 100 new and fairly comfortable plastic chairs. There is an oven and a microwave in a small kitchen for hirer's use at one end of the hall. There are three men's facilities and two women's toilets at the other end of the hall.The hall has access provisions for disabled persons including an access ramp and toilets for disabled persons.

Hall Hire Rates
Please note: rates shown on these pages are correct as at the time of publishing but may change at any stage. Please confirm rates applicable at the time of hire.
Private Hire
The standard lease rate for non-scouting groups is:

$40 per hour and

we require a $200 bond, fully refundable if there is no damage to the hall.

During the winter months (April - October) a $5.00 per hour heating/lighting surcharge is levied on top of the standard lease cost.

Organisations interested in long-term hire (3 months or more) should contact the hall manager for details (groupleader.lgss@scoutsact.com.au) to discuss applicable rates.
Corporate Hire

$80.00 per hour for regular bookings

$100.00 per hour for ad-hoc / one-off bookings

$300.00 for half day (4 hour) bookings

$200 bond payable when making the booking

Seasonal heating/lighting surcharge from 1 April to 30 September of $10.00 per hour

Insurance is required for non-scouting groups.
Insurance

For insurance, the regular hall hirers must have a current certificate of public liability insurance for their organisation.

Occasional hall hirers (eg birthdays, engagements and similar events) must take out the $10m public liability insurance offered by Willis Australia Ltd. The Scout Association of Australia requires this. The current cost is $222 (August 2012).

For occasions held under corporate names, the public liability insurance may be covered by their own corporate public liability insurance. This must be verified on a case-by-case basis by sighting the insurance certificate.

HIRE NOT USUALLY APPROVED
We do not let the hall out for 18th and 21st birthdays; commercial ventures and activities involving sale and/or consumption of alcohol may only be approved under special circumstances.
Good Neighbour Policy
Hirers should note that we like our neighbours and all hirers are asked to assist by complying with ACT noise guidelines.
Disabled Access
The hall has an access ramp and toilet/shower facilities suitable for access by the disabled. There are currently no dedicated parking spaces for the disabled - these have been requested.
